British FTSE 100 rises 0.42 pct

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Thursday rose by 0.42 percent, or 29.32 points, to 6,931.55 points.

Share price of WPP increased by 4.61 percent, topping the gainers of the blue chips. TUI, International Consolidated Airlines Group, Polymetal International and AstraZeneca increased by 3.29 percent, 3.17 percent, 3.05 percent and 2.72 percent respectively.

Capita led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 13.95 percent, following by Standard Chartered (2.67 percent), Royal Mail (2.30 percent), Babcock International Group (2.09 percent) and Rolls-Royce Holdings (2.08 percent). Endit
