Beijing paves cycle tracks around 3rd ring road

Xinhua, December 8, 2016 Adjust font size:

Beijing has completed the work of paving cycle tracks on the side roads around the capital's third ring road, the city's urban road maintenance and administrative center said Thursday.

The cycle tracks cover a total of 48,000 square meters.

The capital has encouraged citizens to adopt public transport, walk or use bikes for travel in recent years in a bid to ease the city's traffic congestion.

It is expected that cycle tracks in the capital will reach a length of 3,000 km by 2020, with 100,000 public bicycles put into use. Endi
