Croatia initiates cooperation with Montenegro, Albania in Adriatic

Xinhua, December 7, 2016 Adjust font size:

Croatia would cooperate with Montenegro and Albania in the fields of economy and environmental protection, especially in Adriatic, a high ranking official said on Tuesday.

The trilateral cooperation would help step up political dialogue on the integration of Albania and Montenegro into the EU and strengthen Croatia's position in the Adriatic, Davor Ivo Stier, Croatian Foreign and European Affairs Minister who attends NATO foreign ministers in Brussels, said, according to local media.

"I believe it will strengthen our position in the Adriatic and the security of the Adriatic," he said, adding "it is in the interest of Croatia and its neighbours."

The cooperation between three countries would be formalized at the beginning of next year, he added. Endit
