British FTSE 100 rises 0.49 pct on Tuesday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Tuesday rose by 0.49 percent, or 33.01 points, to 6,779.84 points.

Share price of Royal Bank of Scotland Group increased by 8.12 percent, topping the gainers of the blue chips. Barclays, Aviva, HSBC Holdings and ITV increased by 6.48 percent, 4.74 percent, 4.29 percent and 3.49 percent respectively.

Anglo American led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 3.90 percent, following by Johnson Matthey (2.88 percent), Paddy Power Betfair (2.57 percent), Sage Group (2.13 percent) and BHP Billiton (2.13 percent). Endit
