Nepalese FM to attend 9th Bali Democracy Forum in Indonesia

Nepalese Foreign Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat will be visiting Indonesia from December 8 to 9 to attend the 9th Bali Democracy Forum to be held in Bali, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said here on Tuesday.

The Bali Democracy Forum has been annually convened since 2008 by the Indonesian government as a platform for open inter- governmental dialogue among participating countries of Asia and the Pacific, focusing a theme on democracy and governance.

The Nepalese foreign minister will take part in the General Debate on "Religion, Democracy and Pluralism" to be chaired by Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, according to the ministry.

The Bali Democracy Forum was initiated by former Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and was first held from Dec. 10 to 11, 2008. Endit
