Vietnamese party chief says combating corruption fierce fight

Xinhua, December 6, 2016 Adjust font size:

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong on Tuesday said that combating corruption is a fierce fight

Trong made the remark in a meeting with local voters in Vietnamese capital Hanoi.

"Corruption is a pressing issue not only in Vietnam but in every other country and in any period of time. In some countries, governments and regimes have been ousted due to corruption," he said.

"In any tenure of the CPV Central Committee, we always adopt a resolution on combating degradation and waste. Anti-corruption is a fierce fight. However, we cannot escape fighting but have to do it thoroughly, persistently and drastically," Vietnam's state-run radio VOV quoted Trong as saying. Endit
