Singapore stocks close 0.21 pct higher

Singapore stocks finished higher on Tuesday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) up 6.07 points, or 0.21 percent, to close at 2,949.12.

A total of 1.75 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.14 billion Singapore dollars (804 million U.S. dollars).

Gainers outnumbered decliners 218 to 209, while 672 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 23.68 points, or 0.81 percent, to close at 2,943.05 on Monday. Endit
