Lufthansa, GE to invest 250 mln euros in Poland

Xinhua, December 6, 2016 Adjust font size:

GE Aviation and Lufthansa Technik (LH) jointly unveiled the location of a service center in Poland on Monday with an investment estimated at 250 million euros (269.4 million U.S. dollars).

The center for plane engines will be located in Sroda Slaska, south-western Poland, and the joint venture -- christened XEOS -- will be responsible for this investment.

According to the Polish Ministry of Development, this investment will create around 600 new jobs.

Groundbreaking is planned for March 2017, while the opening of the center is scheduled in September 2018.

GE has been in the Polish market since 1992, employing 12,000 people. GE has three factories that specialize in the production of electronic devices, two GE Aviation factories and three GE Power production sites. It has maintained the Engineering Design Center in Warsaw for 16 years. Endit
