Gudjohnsen wants to play for Chapecoense with Ronaldinho

Iceland international forward Eidur Gudjohnsen has become the latest footballer to offer to play for Chapecoense after a plane crash decimated the Brazilian Serie A club last week.

The 36-year-old joins fellow former Barcelona players Ronaldinho and Juan Roman Riquelme to state a desire to represent the grief-racked club.

"Out of respect I would play for Chapecoense if they have a place for me! If not just to play with Ronaldinho again," Gudjohnsen said on Twitter.

Seventy-one people died when a chartered LaMia plane slammed into a hillside just before its planned destination near Medellín last Monday.

The victims included 19 Chapecoense players and all of the club's coaching staff. There were just six survivors.

Gudjohnsen, whose career has included spells at Bolton, Tottenham, Stoke and Fulham, now plays for Indian Super League outfit Pune City. Endit
