Flight makes emergency landing in Azores, several reportedly injured

A Qatar Airways flight heading to Doha made an emergency landing at Portuguese island Azores on Sunday after departing from Washington, according to the website Flight Aware.

The flight landed at the Lajes Air Base in Azores around four hours and 58 minutes after departing due to great turbulence which caused several passengers to be injured.

A passenger on flight said several people had suffered fractures and one of the passengers had had a heart attack, according to local media.

Three passengers have been hospitalized, local media reported. Endit
