The following are news highlights in Kenyan media outlets on Saturday.
-- Electoral commission announces that it will register new voters starting January next year in an exercise that targets some 6.7 million people. The month-long listing will run from Jan. 15 to Feb. 16 as the commission makes a final push ahead of next August polls.
Also to be registered will be voters in the diaspora starting from Feb. 16 to 21. Thereafter, the commission will open the voters' register for verification of the biometrics data for 30 days. In February, the agency failed to hit its target of four million voters during registration, getting only 1.2 million voters. (Saturday Nation)
