Spain's unemployment rises by 24,841 people in Nov

The number of people registered as unemployed in Spain rose by 24,841 people from October to November according to data published on Friday by the Spanish Ministry of Employment and Social Security.
The total number of unemployed people stood at 3,789,823 in November, the biggest figure in six months, after four consecutive months of rises on a monthly basis.
Regarding sectors, the number of people unemployed in the agriculture sector rose by 3,908 people, it increased by 27,684 in the services sector while decreasing by 3,802 people in the industry sector and by 4,524 people in the construction sector.
The number of unemployed men rose by 12,082 people to 1,663,870 and the number of unemployed women increased by 12,759 to 2,125,953.
November saw 1,743,708 new contracts signed, which meant an 8.6 percent increase when compared with the same month of a year earlier. 91.12 percent were temporary contracts while the rest were indefinite contracts.
Meanwhile, on a year-on-year basis, unemployment fell by 8.66 percent, which meant 359,475 fewer people unemployed.
The ministry explained that the rise in November was due to the end of the peak tourist season as in some places it lasted more than usual because of the good weather. Endit
