CBA Roundup: Guangdong edges Beijing to get eighth consecutive win

Donald Sloan snatched 35 points and 5 assists to help Guangdong edge Beijing 105-101 to get the eighth consecutive win in the 13th round of the 2016-2017 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league regular season action here on Friday.

Beijing went on a 15-9 run for Sun Yue's four three-pointers to end the first quarter with 29-30, and Guangdong widened the gap to 5 points at the half time and 9 points in the third quarter.

Beijing got 7 points in the begining of the fourth quarter to narrow the gap to 2 points, but Sloan's three-pointer and two penalty shots to seal the victory for Guangdong.

Yi Jianlian get 15 points and 10 rebounds for Guangdong. Marbury and Morris combined with 58 points for Beijing.

Lester Hudson's 31 points helped Liaoning to overwhelm Bayi 115-85 to get two consecutive wins.

Guangsha still led the standings after beating Jiangsu 104-86.

Elsewhere, Shandong edged Jilin 94-93, Shenzhen beat Tianjin 103-87, Shanghai upset Qingdao 111-98, Shanxi defeated Sichuan 130-127, Guangzhou beat Aolong 116-92, Tongxi edged Zhejiang 102-101, Xinjiang beat Fujian 114-103. Endit
