Western European countries, more specifically the Nordics, dominated the top ten on the list of world countries which had the most satisfied workers, according to a study released Thursday.
According to the findings from the Global Workforce Happiness Index, released by branding research firm Universum, Denmark and Norway are home to the world's happiest and most loyal employees.
In third place, tucked between Norway and Sweden, was Costa Rica.
Austria's workforce stood at number five followed by the Netherlands, Finland and Belgium in eighth place.
In ninth place, Hungary's workforce represent Eastern Europe's happiest workforce, followed by the Czech Republic.
Germany and Switzerland stand at eleventh and twelfth place respectively, followed by Mexico which represents North America's happiest workforce.
Universum said the survey was carried out between September 2015 and September 2016, during which more than 200,000 young professionals in 57 markets participated in this research.
"A striking finding is that in the countries where young professionals are less happy, an important driver is professional development and learning opportunities, while in the happier countries, improved work-life balance is a top-driver," it said. Endit
