Speaking on the phone on Thursday, Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydlo and her Dutch counterpart Mark Rutte discussed Ukraine's association agreement with the European Union, local media reported.
"The conversation concerned resolving the crisis around the EU's association agreement with Ukraine. We want to overcome the stalemate that arose some time ago," Polish government spokesman Rafal Bochenek told the Polish Press Agency.
"We want all EU countries to support the positive changes taking place in Ukraine," he added.
The EU has not yet completed the ratification of its association agreement with Ukraine, the obstacle being the result of a non-binding referendum in the Netherlands in April in which over 60 percent of voters rejected the agreement.
The Dutch government has been seeking a solution that would change Dutch public opinion and the parliament as well as enabling the association agreement to be ratified. Endit
