Czech parliament nods protocol on accession of Montenegro to NATO

Czech Chamber of Deputies on Thursday gave the green light to the Protocol on the Accession of Montenegro to NATO, which had approved by the Czech Senate in October.

The protocol was supported by 95 out of 117 deputies present on Thursday. Sixteen deputies voted against the protocol.

Lawmaker Leo Luzar warned against the integration of Montenegro in NATO, saying NATO membership will bring Montenegro only an imaginary sense of security.

Montenegro and the NATO members signed the Protocol on the Accession of Montenegro to NATO in May this year. The protocol has since been under a ratification process in the 28 NATO members. Endit
