Xinhua, December 1, 2016 Adjust font size:

The benchmark DAX index at Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Wednesday gained 19.81 points, or 0.19 percent, and closed at 10,640.30 points.

The Index went down 0.2 percent for November.

European investors' anxiety has been deepened ahead of the Austrian presidential election and Italian constitutional referendum this weekend.

While the American stocks keep moving higher, their German peer DAX moves consistently sideways.

German industrial gases group Linde advanced the most by 4.73 percent as it renewed talks with the U.S. competitor Praxair to create the world's leading industrial gases supplier.

Germany Airline Lufthansa lost the most by 1.61 percent. It's reported that the booking numbers has fallen noticeably, affected by the pilots' strike since last week, which has grounded over 4,000 flights. The stock also suffered from the rise of oil price.

Linde was also the most traded share of the day with a volume of 363.11 million euros (385 million U.S. dollars). Endit
