Germany's unemployed population fell in November to 2.53 million, the Federal Employment Agency of Germany announced on Wednesday.

Compared to the number in October, the unemployment figure in November fell by 8,000 to 2.53 million, which is 101,000 less than that in November 2015, according to the figures of the Nuremberg-based agency.

Meanwhile, the unemployment rate declined to 5.7 percent nationwide, 0.1 percent less than that in October, it added.

"The labor market developed also favorably in November. Unemployment has continued to fall and the demand for new employees is on a consistently high level," said Frank-Juergen Weise, head of the agency.
