Estonian PM meets Maltese counterpart on incoming EU presidency

Estonian Prime Minister Juri Ratas met his Maltese counterpart Joseph Muscat here on Tuesday to discuss the priorities of the European Union (EU) presidency for the two countries next year.

Malta assumes the rotating Presidency of the Council of the EU in January, preceding Estonia's presidency in the second half of 2017.

Ratas said priorities were invigorating the economy, the labor market, security, the security of EU citizens, the neighborhood policy and migration issues, the Baltic News Service reported on Wednesday.

The two heads of governments also tackled the security situation in Europe, as well as foreign policy, according to spokesperson for the Estonian government. Endit
