Benin's jazz festival to kick off soon

Xinhua, December 1, 2016 Adjust font size:

Benin's economic capital Cotonou will host the 5th Cotonou Jazz Colours Festival from December 2 to 4 to promote African jazz and Benin jazz in particular, organizers told Xinhua Wednesday.

At least 20 artists from Benin, other African countries and Europe are expected to attend the festival.

They include Almok and Adjoa Sika from Togo, Woz Kaly from Senegal and choreographer Nicole Seiler from Switzerland, organizers said.

"Cotonou Jazz Colours Festival is a real market for music where invited festival programmers and promoters could enlarge their programming spectrum in the future," festival promoter John Arcadius told Xinhua.

"This enables disc production, sheds light on emblematic singers and ... sustains proven and emergent African talents", he said. Endite
