British FTSE 100 rises 0.17 pct

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Wednesday rose by 0.17 percent, or 11.79 points, to 6,783.79 points.

Share price of Royal Dutch Shell B increased by 4.28 percent, topping the gainers of the blue chips. Royal Dutch Shell A, BP, Ashtead Group and 3i Group increased by 3.95 percent, 3.82 percent, 3.71 percent and 2.45 percent respectively.

Capita led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 5.92 percent, following by Fresnillo (2.76 percent), Sage Group (2.66 percent), Rio Tinto (2.51 percent) and Randgold Resources (2.48 percent). Endit
