Police arrest 87 in crackdown on criminal groups: Europol

Police have arrested 87 people in the operation "TRIVIUM 7" which target criminal groups across the European Union, the European Police Office (Europol) said in a press release Wednesday.

Police officers from 10 European countries, with the support of Europol, took action from Nov. 20 to 26 to counter the organized crime groups and their infrastructure.

The main focus of the operation was to identify perpetrators who use long distance buses and minivans for smuggling stolen goods.

According to Europol, during the operation, more than 4,000 people were controlled and 1,800 vehicles checked.

The action also resulted in the seizure of gold jewels, 60 kg of cocaine and 190 kg of MDMA crystals. Endit
