Grizzlies' Conley out indefinitely due to back injury

Xinhua, November 30, 2016 Adjust font size:

Memphis Grizzlies point guard Mike Conley will miss six to eight weeks due to a transverse process fracture in his lower back.

The team's website reported Tuesday that Conley will be re-evaluated in a month. Conley suffered the injury in the third quarter of Memphis' 104-85 loss against Charlotte on Monday.

The Grizzlies signed Conley to a five-year deal worth $153 million over the summer. Conley is averaging a career-high 19.2 points to go along with 5.7 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 32.2 minutes, leading Grizzlies to an 11-7 record.

The Grizzlies were 9-21 last season, including the playoffs, without Conley and they are 0-1 without him this season. Endit
