Mozambican President Filipe Nyusi on Tuesday visited the Cuban Embassy in Mozambique and personally paid tribute to the late former statesman and leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.

In an interaction with the Cuban ambassador to Mozambique, Nyusi acknowledged Castro as a great friend of Mozambique. He said that Cuba played and continues playing an important role in the development of the country, especially in improving the health status of Mozambique.

Nyusi highlighted the fact that Cuban doctors are among those who hardly request benefits when providing humanitarian services.

"That is one of the reasons that made us come here and pay tribute to Fidel Castro, someone whose vision included the development of our people, our country," said Nyusi.

Last Sunday, after the announcement of the death of Fidel Castro, Nyusi issued a message of condolences to the Cuban people. Endit
