High turnout reported in France's conservative primary runoff: organizer

The turnout in the second round of French center-right primary for the 2017 presidential election increased by 4.5 percent from the same time of the first round, the organizer of said on Sunday.

Taking into account 78 percent of 10,228 poll station, more that 2.9 million voters cast their ballots by 5 p.m. (1600 GMT), Thierry Solere, president of the committee organizing the primary said.

More than 4.2 million people voted in the first round. Endit
