Seven migrant corpses were found on board a dinghy off Malta Saturday afternoon, while two men who survived a sea ordeal are on their way to the island, according to local media.

An Armed Forces of Malta spokesman confirmed that the two survivors, suffering from dehydration, were airlifted off the dinghy.

The boat was spotted by a vessel taking part in a Frontex operation between Malta and Libya.

The Malta Independent online said that the bodies of the victims are expected to be taken to Italy. Endit
