British FTSE 100 rose 0.17 pct on Friday

FTSE 100 Index, British benchmark stock market gauge, Friday rose by 0.17 percent, or 11.55 points, to 6,840.75 points.

Share price of Sky increased by 3.89 percent, topped the gainers of the blue chips. AstraZeneca, Unilever, National Grid and Mediclinic International increased by 2.17 percent, 1.70 percent, 1.48 percent and 1.17 percent respectively.

Standard Life led the top losers of the blue chips with a share price drop of 2.21 percent, following by Glencore (1.84 percent), DCC (1.61 percent), Lloyds Banking Group (1.52 percent) and Anglo American (1.48 percent). Endit
