Poland to receive 12 bln USD from EU funds in 2017: official

Poland will obtain a total of 50 billion zloty (11.93 billion U.S. dollars) from the European Union in 2017, said the Deputy Minister of Development Jerzy Kwiecinski.

Kwiecinski said that in initial estimation, EU transfers to Poland will exceed 50 billion zloty as part of its implementation of the cohesion policy and the common agricultural policy in 2017.

Of this total, Poland will have contributed 18 billion zloty to the EU budget, said Kwiecinski.

Polish Finance Ministry data showed that from January to September 2016, EU transfers to Poland amounted to 13 billion zloty under the cohesion policy and 16.2 billion zloty in the framework of the common agricultural policy.

Under the EU financial framework, funding is provided to Poland for employment and social capital development, transportation infrastructure, etc.

Polish media reported that Poland is earmarked to receive a total of 365 billion zloty between the years 2016 and 2020. Enditem
