Laos, Vietnam ink deals to deepen ties, cooperation

Laos and Vietnam on Thursday signed seven documents to enhance bilateral relations and cooperation during the visit of the Vietnamese party chief to Laos.

General Secretary of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and President of Laos Bounnhang Vorachit and General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong witnessed the signing of the deals following their talks.

The two leaders briefed each other on the important issues in their countries, reviewed bilateral relations and cooperation in recent years and discussed future cooperation during their talks, reported local Vientiane Times.

On the same day, the Vietnamese party chief and his delegation paid a courtesy call on Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith and President of Lao National Assembly Pany Yathotou.

The Vietnamese party chief is on a three-day visit here starting on Thursday. Endit
