Xinhua, November 24, 2016 Adjust font size:

The Czech police on Wednesday detained four members of an international gang of drug producers, smugglers and dealers, said Czech national anti-drug squad spokeswoman Barbora Kudlackova.

She said the operation was conducted by Czech police in cooperation with their Austrian and German colleagues.

Kudlackova said the detectives uncovered the whole gang of more than 50 people in the past nine months.

In the raids, the police seized over 100 kg of illegal drugs, mainly pervitin (methamphetamine), which was worth 216 million crowns (about 8.6 million U.S. dollars).

According to Kudlackova, the extensive operation against drug gang ended with coordinated raids on Wednesday in the Czech Republic, Germany and Austria.

The four members detained in the Czech Republic face punishment in jail from eight to 12 years for drug production. Endit
