Xinhua, November 22, 2016 Adjust font size:

Togolese Prime Minister Komi Selom Klassou on Monday officially opened the 13th Lome International Trade Fair (FIL), which this year aims to promote the development of the agricultural industry in the country and wider region.

Some 880 exhibitors from 20 countries have already started activities on the weekend at the Lome Center for Exhibition and Fair in the outskirts of the capital city of Lome.

Organizers announced earlier that at least 1,100 exhibitors from 30 countries were expected to attend the 2016 edition of the FIL and a simultaneous trade fair for cosmetics and beauty products.

Egypt is the special guest-country for this year's FIL and it is represented by 14 enterprises specialized in agriculture and leather industries.

During the opening ceremony, Trade Minister Bernadette Legzim-Balouki praised the agro-themed trade fair, saying the hosting of the event is in line with government endeavors to promote agriculture, a pillar industry of the national economy. Endi
