Egypt Nooros gas field to produce 1 billion cubic feet per day in 2017: Italy's Eni

Xinhua, November 22, 2016 Adjust font size:

Italian oil major Eni said Monday its Egypt Nooros field, which currently produces almost 900 million cubic feet of gas per day, will top 1 billion cubic feet per day in the first quarter of 2017, Egypt's state news agency MENA reported.

Earlier on Monday, Egypt's petroleum minister Tareq al-Molla and Chairwoman of the Board of Eni Company Emma Marcegaglia discussed in Cairo beefing up investments in the North African country.

The two sides also discussed the company's activities in Egypt and its timetable to implement its development projects that will open new oil exploration prospects in the most populous Arab country.

Eni began production at its Nile Delta offshore field Nooros in September 2015.

Meanwhile, Marcegaglia hailed the company's major achievements in Egypt over the past period, adding that Egypt has great opportunities to explore its petroleum wealth of natural gas in the deep waters in the Mediterranean Sea and the Nile Delta. Endit
