Singapore stocks close 0.77 pct lower

Singapore stocks finished lower on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) down 21.98 points, or 0.77 percent, to close at 2,816.67.

A total of 1.79 billion shares changed hands with turnover of 1.27 billion Singapore dollars (891.4 million U.S. dollars).

Decliners outnumbered gainers 278 to 173, while 631 others finished unchanged.

The STI index gained 25.17 points, or 0.89 percent, to close at 2,838.65 on Nov. 18. Endit
