--President Jacob Zuma is waging a desperate battle for his political survival and has gone all out in a war against his perceived enemies inside and outside the ANC.

With the tide turning against him in the party, Zuma has resorted to tried-and-tested tactics that have ensured his staying power: playing the victim and appealing directly to the grass roots ANC membership.(City Press).

--President Jacob Zuma has called on ANC members to be vigilant and guard against Western countries which he says are funding certain political parties and individuals plotting a regime change in South Africa.

The president was addressing party members attending the party's cadre's forum in KwaDukuza north of Durban on Saturday. President Zuma says the ruling party must always strive to get a two thirds majority during elections so that it can pass any law without relying on other parties in Parliament.(South African Broadcasting Corporation).
