Lithuania's 1st post-independence leader honored with France's top award

The first de facto leader of Lithuania, Vytautas Landsbergis, was honored with France's highest award on Friday.

On Friday evening, French Ambassador to Lithuania Philippe Jeantaud presented Landsbergis with the Grand Cross of the Legion of Honor, France's highest award, during a ceremony in the Lithuanian capital.

Earlier this year, French President Francois Hollande signed a decree to honor Landsbergis with the award. Endit
