S. African stocks close higher Friday

The Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) nudged higher on Friday at close of session.

The all-share index closed 0.02 percent higher at 50,626.06 points, while the Top 40 index gained 0.1 percent to 44,216.56 points.

Resources shares were one of the losers, with the Resources 20 index dropping 1.62 percent and the volatile Gold mining index trading 2.49 percent lower. The Industrial index was 0.68 percent up and the Financial index gained 0.38 percent.

DRDGold lost 4.38 percent to R6.12. Its share price lost 49.9 percent over the past 90 days.

Spot gold was 0.53 percent down at 1,209.48 U.S. dollars per ounce. Endit
