Jordan says to keep supporting Palestinian cause

Xinhua, November 16, 2016 Adjust font size:

Jordan's Prime Minister Hani Mulki on Wednesday said the country will continue to defend the Palestinian cause and move ahead with combating terrorism, state-run Petra news agency reported.

In a speech at the Lower House, Mulki said Jordan is the closest to Palestine and the most affected and will continue to play its historical role and stand against all Israeli attempts and aggressions in Jerusalem.

Jordan, he said, will keep defending the holy Islamic and Christian sites in East Jerusalem.

On terrorism, the premier said Jordan will keep up with its efforts in fighting extremism and terrorism at all levels and defending the image of Islam.

Mulki also pointed to the Syrian crisis, saying Jordan will continue to push for a political solution.

He added that the government will work on several fronts to address economic challenges in the country including a rising public debt. Endit
