Xinhua, November 16, 2016 Adjust font size:

The Kyrgyz parliament on Wednesday decided to abolish the country's military court, the parliament's press service said.

A meeting of the parliament approved a draft law which provides for abolishing the military court and transferring their duties to local courts.

Almambet Shykmamatov, former justice minister and now a member of the parliament, who initiated the draft law, said that salaries of judges at the military court are several times higher than those of other judges while the load on the military court is small.

A total of 85 lawmakers voted for the draft law and 27 were against it. Endi
