Bangladesh court issues arrest warrant for 22 opposition members

A court in Bangladesh's capital Dhaka has issued the arrest warrant Sunday for 22 opposition men including several leaders in a case filed for creating subversive activities in Dhaka in February last year.

Judge Kamrul Hossain Mollah of Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court issued the arrest warrant against Barkatullah Bulu, vice-chairman of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), and 21 others after accepting the charges leveled against 30 opposition leaders and activists in the case.

The court fixed Jan. 22, 2017 as the next date of hearing in the case.

According to the case statement, the accused threw petrol bombs on a vehicle in Dhaka on Feb. 2 last year during a demonstration against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government. Endit
