Singapore PM visits Indonesia to further economic collaboration

Xinhua, November 13, 2016 Adjust font size:

Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will be in Semarang, Indonesia from Sunday to Monday to attend the Singapore-Indonesia Leaders' Retreat with Indonesian President Joko Widodo, said the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) Sunday.

PMO said this is Lee's first Leaders' Retreat with Joko Widodo, following the Indonesian President's State Visit to the city state in July last year.

During the retreat, the leaders will review progress in bilateral relations, explore ways to expand and deepen cooperation, and exchange views on regional and international developments.

They will witness the signing of a series of Memorandum of Understanding, including the agreement on tourism cooperation between Singapore's Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia, said PMO.

Leaders of the two countries will also officially open the Kendal Industrial Park, a joint-venture between SembCorp Development and PT Kawasan Industri Jababeka. Endit
