Pakistan condemns attack on German consulate in northern Afghan city

Pakistan on Friday condemned a suicide attack on German consulate in the northern Afghan city of Mazar-e-Sharif which killed at least four people and injured nearly 100.

Taliban had claimed late Thursday's attack.

"The Government of Pakistan strongly condemns the suicide attack on the German Consulate in Mazar-e-Sharif that led to loss of several precious lives, left scores wounded and caused massive damage to the property," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

It said Pakistan conveys its deepest condolences to families of those who lost their lives in this terrorist incident and prays for early recovery of the injured. "Pakistan also expresses its sympathies with the German Government on their Mission in Mazar-e-Sharif."

The Foreign Ministry said Pakistan reiterates its unequivocal condemnation of terrorism in all forms and manifestations and reaffirms its commitment for continued efforts and cooperation for eliminating this menace. Endit
