Xinhua, November 11, 2016 Adjust font size:

Jimmer Fredette scored a game-high 51 points, leading Shanghai to romp over Guangdong 111-88 on home court in the fifth round of the 2016-2017 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league on Friday.

Fredette made nine 3-pointers out of 17 attempts and grabbed 10 rebounds as well. Shanghai built the lead since the first quarter and kept it till the end, while its crucial 3-pointers upset the opponents and sealed the game.

Yi Jianlian, a star player stirring the recent shoe-sponsor bickering, finished with 27 points and nine rebounds, pushing the team in the third quarter in which both teams had identical 28 points.

Former NBA player Carlos Boozer got a small double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds, seemingly hard to reach his best form.

In the match of "Top vs Bottom", the pace leaders Xinjiang defeated the tailenders Tongxi, 119-108. The winners once had a cushion of more than 20 points.

Zaid Abbass had the game-high 46 points though, but Tongxi failed to turn over the table. Darius Adams and Andray Blatche combined for 75 points.

Elsewhere on Friday, Tianjin lost to Beijing 109-114, Qiandao beat Zhengjiang 96-87, and Jilin crushed over Shanxi 102-93. Endit
