The UN Office for the Coordination Affairs (OCHA) on Thursday said that a further 3,300 people have been displaced since Wednesday, bringing the number of people displaced in context of the Mosul military operations to more than 45,000 since Oct. 17, a UN spokesman told reporters.

KABUL -- At least two persons were killed and more than two dozens injured in an overnight Taliban car bombing against German consulate in the northern Afghan city of Mazar-i-Sharif, local officials said Friday.
"One terrorist detonated a car bomb near the gate of German Consulate office late Thursday night, killing himself and one other person and injuring 28 others," a security source told Xinhua anonymously.(Afghanistan-Attack)

CAIRO -- Nine militant extremists were killed during anti-terrorist military raids in Arish, Rafah and Sheikh Zuweid cities of Egypt's restive North Sinai province bordering Israel and the Gaza Strip, the Egyptian military spokesman said on Thursday.

THE HAGUE -- Wild water birds found dead in Monnickendam are infected with avian influenza H5N8, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Economic Affairs confirmed to Xinhua on Thursday.
