Dollar changes hands in upper 106 yen range in early trade in Tokyo

The U.S. dollar traded in the upper 106 yen zone in early deals in Tokyo on Friday, largely in line with levels seen overnight in New York.

As markets opened here, the dollar was quoted at 106.80-82 yen compared with 106.74-84 yen in New York and 105.63-64 yen at 5 p.m. on Thursday in Tokyo.

The euro, meanwhile, fetched 1.0887-0888 dollars and 116.28-30 yen against 1.0885-0895 dollars and 116.30-40 yen in New York and 1.0929-0931 dollars and 115.44-48 yen late on Thursday afternoon in Tokyo. Endit
