Spain's industrial production rises by 1.2 pct in Sept.

Spain's industrial production rose by 1.2 percent in September when compared with the same month in 2015, according to the Index of Industrial Production published on Monday by Spain's Statistical Office (INE).

Production of consumer goods climbed by 1.5 percent in September year-on-year, with production of durable and non-durable goods growing by 4 percent and 1.3 percent respectively.

According to the INE, production of capital goods fell by 2 percent, while production of intermediate goods and energy rose by 2.8 percent and 2.3 percent respectively.

Spain's industrial production has been rising year-on-year for two consecutive months after having fallen by 5.2 percent in July. Before, it had increased for three consecutive months, by 8.8 percent in April, by 3.9 percent in May and by 0.9 percent in June, returning to positive territory in August 2016.

Meanwhile, the INE also reported that on a month-to-month basis, the country's industrial production fell by 1.4 percent. Endi
