Kenya call up 12 foreign based players

Xinhua, November 8, 2016 Adjust font size:

Kenya head coach Stanley Okumbi called up 12 foreign-based players for the international friendlies against Mozambique and Liberia on Monday.

They will join the other 25 members who were named on Oct. 25 to face Mozambique on Saturday and Liberia three days later.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama headlines the list as players are expected to report to the training camp in Nairobi from Tuesday.

Former Gor Mahia winger Rama Salim misses the squad for administrative issues with his club MFK Topvar Topolcany of Slovakia.

Okumbi has also included red-hot IF Djurgardens striker Michael Olunga, who scored a brace over the weekend in the Swedish top flight.

Zambia's Zesco United lead the foreign count with striker Jesse Were, midfielder Anthony Akumu and defender David Owino retaining their places in the team.

Finland-based Amos Ekhalie, who turns out for IFK Marirhamn, is the only new face in the line-up. Endit
