1st LD: 7 Iranians killed, over 60 injured in Iraq suicide attack

Seven Iranians were killed and 61 others wounded in the two suicide attacks on Iranian pilgrims at a parking lot in Iraq's Samarra, the official IRNA news agency reported Sunday.

Two women and five men were among the the Iranians killed in the attack, Mousa Esmaeili, the Iranian representative for reconstructing religious Shrines in Samarra, told IRNA.

Some of the injured people were transferred to the Iraqi capital of Baghdad for further treatments, Esmaeili said.

A diplomatic delegation from Iran's embassy in Iraq have travelled to Samarra to facilitate the transfer of the other wounded people to Iran, he added. Endit
