The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Sunday.

-- The Zambian government has launched a 55 million U.S. dollars Cashew Infrastructure Development Project for Western Province which will benefit 60,000 households in the province.

Minister of Agriculture Dora Siliya said the project, if well implemented, will change the economic situation in the province and urged the beneficiaries to use the funds for the intended purpose. (Zambia Daily Mail)

-- Lawyers in Zambia have asked the Constitutional Court to dismiss an application by ministers to review a judgment in which they were ordered to pay back salaries and other emoluments they received after dissolution of parliament in May.

The Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) had sued the former ministers for illegally serving in government after parliament was dissolved and the Constitutional Court ordered them to pay back and vacate their offices. (The Mast)

-- Zambia will host the second African Union (AU) Peace and Security Council retreat which starts on Monday, November 7.

The retreat, whose theme is "Practical Steps to Silence the Guns in Africa by 2020" to be held in Lusaka, the country's capital will be attended by both international and local dignitaries. (Times of Zambia)

-- The Zambian government has started engaging stakeholders on the development of a framework to address the challenge of children on the streets.

Minister of Sport, Youth and Child Development Moses Mawere said the framework will embrace a twofold approach involving rehabilitation and reintegration of children aged between 0 and 14 years back into communities and rehabilitation and provision of skills training to children aged between 15 and 18 years.
