Russia delivers humanitarian aid to war-torn Syria

Russia has delivered about seven tons of humanitarian aid from Monday to Tuesday to Syrian provinces of Aleppo, Hama, Quneitra and Tartus, the Russian Defense Ministry said Wednesday.

Eight humanitarian events were held "in last 24 hours" to give the humanitarian aid to people in Auba of Quneitra province, in Hama, in military and central hospitals in Tartus, and in residential homes and orphanages in Aleppo, the ministry said.

According to the ministry, stores with hot food and essential items are working for the civilians fleeing the northern Syrian city of Aleppo part of which was under the control of armed groups.

Syria's civil war between government forces and insurgents, including opposition groups and terrorists, has been raging for more than five years and has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives. Endi
