Heavy rain over the past few days in Vietnam's central region has left three missing and six injured, said local authorities said Wednesday.

Specifically, among the missing, two are in central Quang Binh province and one in central Quang Tri province, while Quang Binh reports five injured and Quang Tri reports one, as of Wednesday morning, according to the Department of Natural Disaster Prevention and Control under Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Torrential rains also flooded over 20,400 houses, damaged 200 hectares of crop and washed away nearly 3,300 cattle and poultries, said the department.

In the coming time, the department urged local authorities to evacuate people to safe places, provide clean drinking water, food, blanket and other essential necessities to those affected. Endit
